《地震》这件装置创作于2008年，是为了纪念2008年5月12日四川汶川大地震而作，多次参与世界各地的展出，是黄锐的经典作品之一。
Earthquake was created in 2008 to commemorate the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province on May 12, 2008. It is one of Huang Rui's classical works that has been exhibited many times around the world.
几乎同一时期，黄锐自2006年在北京的郊外建造了“白云馆”，所用建筑材料来自北京古城中被现代规划拆迁的元、明、清三代建筑。2018年，黄锐把“白云馆”捐赠给地方政府。在地方政府的支持下，一家香港基金会正把它打造成一所艺术交流中心。
Around the same time, Huang Rui built the Cloud House at the outskirts of Beijing in 2006, using materials from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty buildings that had been demolished during the modern planning in the ancient cities of Beijing. In 2018, he donated the Cloud House to the local government. And with their support, a Hong Kong foundation is turning it into an art exchange center.
正如地震下的建筑空间一样，在愈加升级的物质社会，人的存在愈加脆弱，黄锐在作品里表现出这一点。不可思议的是，最无视物质属性的道学观念仍将存在。王维在诗中写道：“但去莫复问，白云无尽时。”
Just like the architectural space left after the earthquake, the human existence is getting more fragile in the increasingly upgraded material society, which is shown in Huang Rui’s works. It is incredible that the Taoist concepts which most ignore the material properties still exist. As Wang Wei wrote in his poem: Go and ask of the world nothing more. White clouds will drift on for all the time.
