1985年年底,黄锐移居至大阪市中心的一所日本传统木屋,在这所木屋里,黄锐一直居住至2001年。这一安排在无形中让他得以延续从星星房间开始的传统,即把他的生活、工作空间演绎成一个跨语言和文化领域的交流空间。
In the end of 1985, Huang Rui moved to a traditional Japanese wooden house in downtown Osaka, where he lived until 2001. Imperceptibly, he continued the tradition of the Stars period, translating his living and working space into a trans-language and cross-cultural space for communication.
在这里,他曾多次接待日本“具体”派大师白发一雄、元永定正、堀尾贞治,独立画家津高合一。特别是与白发一雄、堀尾贞治的交往深情真挚。白发一雄曾两次与黄锐交换作品。这里的两位日本前卫艺术大师堀尾贞治和津高合一的作品也是交换而来的。
Here he received many Japanese Gutai masters, such as Kazuo Shiraga, Sadamasa Montonaga, Sadaharu Horio, as well as the independent painter Tsutaka Onei. He maintained especially a deep and sincere exchanges with Kazuo Shiraga and Sadaharu Horio. And Kazuo Shiraga has exchanged works with Huang Rui twice. The works of the two Japanese avant-garde masters Sadaharu Horio and Tsutaka Onei exhibited here are also exchanged for display.
值得一提的是东京画廊的存在。东京画廊是向日本和国际社会介绍“具体派”、“物派”最重要的画廊,黄锐与徐冰、蔡国强是东京画廊代理的三位中国艺术家。
What is worth mentioning is the existence of the Tokyo Gallery, which is an important institution to introduce Gutai and Mono-ha to Japan and the international community. Huang Rui, Xu Bing and Cai Guoqiang are three Chinese artists represented by the Tokyo Gallery.
